Odborníci na vzácná onemocnění z celé Evropy debatovali na konferenci v Praze
V rámci CZ PRES proběhla 25. – 26. října Konference k vzácným onemocněním. Setkání několika desítek odborníků se detailně zaměřilo na dílčí kroky, které chce české předsednictví v Radě EU podniknout směrem k vypracování koordinované strategie pro vzácná onemocnění. Ta by měla lépe reagovat na skutečné potřeby pacientů, jejich rodin a společnosti jako celku, a to jak na národní, tak i mezinárodní úrovni.
„Velmi si cením debaty s kolegy odborníky z celé Evropy. Právě zásluhou našeho předsednictví jsme měli možnost v rámci této platformy sdílet naše zkušenosti v oblasti léčby, screeningu a následné péče. Ačkoliv se jednotlivé státy ve standardizaci liší, cíl zůstává stejný, a to nabídnout jednotlivcům a rodinám plnohodnotný život s veškerou formou podpory, kterou jim zdravotnictví může nabídnout,“ řekl ministr zdravotnictví Vlastimil Válek
CZ PRES připravilo také výstupní dokument konference, tzv. Call to Action, který byl rozeslán všem členským státům s žádostí o vyjádření podpory.
„Cílem je, aby již vytvořená síť spolupráce mezi členskými státy ještě více prohlubovala vzájemnou koordinaci péče a dostupnost potřebných léčiv. Podporujeme dlouhodobě fungující systém, zakotvený na pevných základech, financování centrové péče. Česká republika patří v rámci léčby vzácných onemocnění mezi nejlepší evropskou špičku. Pyšnit se můžeme vynikající infrastrukturou, zavedeným systémem péče, a expertízou. Jsem rád, že o tyto cenné zkušenosti jsme se mohli s kolegy podělit,” doplnil náměstek ministra Jakub Dvořáček.
Navzdory významnému pokroku v péči o pacienty se vzácnými onemocněními, který umožňuje dosavadní podoba nařízení Evropského parlamentu a Rady o léčivých přípravcích pro vzácná onemocnění a pediatrické použití, řada lidí žijících se vzácným onemocněním nemá dostatečně rychlý přístup k léčivým přípravkům. Připravovaná revize těchto legislativních předpisů ze strany Evropské komise jako součást implementace Strategie EU pro léčivé přípravky zlepší a urychlí přístup pacientů k bezpečným, účinným a cenově dostupným léčivům a podpoří inovace ve farmaceutickém odvětví v rámci EU.

Experts from all over Europe met in Prague to discuss rare diseases
As part of CZ PRES, a Conference on rare diseases took place on 25-26 October. The meeting of several dozen experts focused in detail on the partial steps that the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU wants to take towards the development of a coordinated strategy for rare diseases. It should be more responsive to the real needs of patients, their families and society as a whole, both nationally and internationally.
„I very much appreciate the opportunity to debate with fellow experts from all over Europe. It was thanks to our Presidency that we had the opportunity to share our experiences in the field of treatment, screening and after care within this platform. Although countries differ in standardisation, the goal remains the same; namely to offer individuals and families a fulfilling life with all the forms of support that the health care system can offer them,“ Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek said.
CZ PRES has also prepared an output document from the conference, the “Call to Action”, which was sent to all Member States with a request for support.
„The aim is for the already-established network of cooperation between Member States to further deepen the mutual coordination of medical care and the availability of the necessary medicines. We support a long-term functioning system of financing centre-based care based on solid foundations. The Czech Republic is one of the European leaders in the treatment of rare diseases. We pride ourselves on an excellent infrastructure and an established system of care and expertise. I am glad that we were able to share this valuable experience with our colleagues,“ Deputy Minister Jakub Dvořáček said.
Despite the significant advances in the care of patients with rare diseases made possible by the current form of the European Parliament and Council Regulation on medicinal products for treating rare diseases and paediatric use, many people living with rare diseases do not get access to medicines quickly enough. The forthcoming revision of this legislation by the European Commission as part of the implementation of the EU Medicines Strategy will improve and accelerate patient access to safe, effective and affordable medicines and promote innovation in the pharmaceutical sector across the EU.
