New obligations for persons returning from the Italian Republic
On 7 March 2020, the Minister of Health issued an extraordinary measure as a means to reduce the risk of contagion and the spread of COVID-19 in the Czech Republic. This measure applies both to Czech citizens and foreigners.
Czech citizens and persons with permanent or temporary residence in the Czech Republic who reside in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days or work here, and returned from Italy on 7 March 2020 or later, are ordered to report this fact to their general practitioner immediately upon their return to the Czech Republic, by telephone or by any other means of remote communication without personal contact.
If they are not registered with any general practitioner, they must contact any general practitioner. They must proceed likewise vis-à-vis paediatricians. The general practitioner will order a quarantine period of 14 days. This measure does not apply to drivers of freight transport, drivers and crews of medical transport services or passenger aircraft pilots.
