Foreigners who do not participate in the public health insurance but the health care costs are reimbursed by the ministry of the interior
Applicants for temporary protection and their children. Under Act 221/2003 Coll. on the temporary protection of foreign nationals, for the duration of the proceedings and the period fixed for filing an appeal against the decision of the Ministry of the Interior (Section 17 (1)) and for the period of the appellate proceedings, provided the appeal has suspensory effect, these persons are provided on the territory of the Czech Republic with free health care within the scope of the care reimbursed from health insurance under Act 48/1997 Coll., and health care in connection with a compulsory quarantine or another measure related to the protection of public health. A child born to a foreign national enjoying temporary protection and staying on the territory of the Czech Republic is provided on the territory of the Czech Republic with free health care according to the previous sentence until the decision is made to grant temporary protection (Section 28 of the Act on temporary protection of foreign nationals).
